Overview

The 8831C is a synchronous step‑down converter integrating multiple fast‑charging protocols. It supports USB Type‑C, PD3.2 and PPS protocols, Qualcomm QC2.0/3.0/3.0+, Huawei FCP/SCP/HVSCP, VOOC, MediaTek PE2.0, Samsung AFC, USB BC1.2 DCP, and Apple 2.4 A charging specifications. It delivers a complete solution for power‑supplying equipment such as in‑vehicle charging ports, various fast‑charge adapters and smart power strips.

The 8831C adopts a COT control mode, with integrated current‑sensing circuit, ripple compensation circuit, and dual low‑resistance N‑type power switches.

The CX8831C features a maximum operating input voltage of 36 V and an output voltage range from 3.3 V to 21 V, delivering up to 45 W output power. It adjusts output voltage and current according to the detected fast‑charging protocol.

The 8831C features adaptive input‑voltage capability and automatically adjusts output power based on the input voltage.

Its output implements CV/CC characteristics: when the output current is below the set value, it operates in CV mode with constant output voltage; when the output current exceeds the set value, it enters CC mode and the output voltage drops.

Equipped with cable compensation, the 8831C raises the output voltage as output current increases to compensate for voltage drop caused by cable impedance.

Two 8831C chips can be interconnected via CHIP‑LINK, enabling independent high‑power operation for two USB‑C ports; output power will be reduced when both ports work simultaneously.
When one USB‑C port operates within 5 V/200 mA (1 W), the other USB‑C port can deliver high‑power output.

The 8831C supports second‑time OTP programming to realize on‑line firmware upgrade.
