CX718 is a high‑performance current‑mode PWM controller for off‑line flyback converters. It features microampere‑level start‑up current and extremely low standby power consumption.
CX718 integrates a current‑steering charge pump for adaptive gate‑drive speed adjustment. It can directly drive power SiC MOSFETs with different Qg values without series resistors for drive‑speed tuning.
CX718 adopts resistor‑based start‑up architecture. The maximum VDD supply voltage of the chip can reach 80 V, making it suitable for wide‑output‑voltage applications. Its maximum switching frequency is 130 kHz. Both peak‑current jitter and frequency‑jitter functions are implemented to optimize EMI performance. The device supports green energy‑saving mode and hiccup mode, with standby power consumption lower than 75 mW.
CX718 provides comprehensive protection functions to ensure reliable system operation, including cycle‑by‑cycle current limiting (OCP), overload protection (OLP), under‑voltage lockout (UVLO), VDD over‑voltage protection (VDD OVP), over‑temperature protection (OTP), CS‑pin open‑circuit protection (SCB), built‑in soft‑start, leading‑edge blanking (LEB), and internal slope compensation.
