ORVIBO MixSwitch 20W fast charging socket with built-in CX7527C power control chip

The ORVIBO MixSwitch five hole fast charging socket is equipped with a highly integrated CX7527C power control chip and CX7538B synchronous rectification chip. In addition to the AC socket, the socket also has a 1A1C dual fast charging interface, which can provide power to high-power household appliances and directly plug in data cables for 20W fast charging of iPhone 12/13 phones, making it very convenient and practical.


The AC socket and USB interface are arranged on the left and right sides, with QC, Type-C, and parameters printed next to the USB interface.

Using ChargerLAB POWER-Z KT002, it was tested that the USB-A port supports Apple 2.4A, Samsung 5V2A, DCP protocols, as well as QC2.0/3.0, AFC, FCP, and SCP fast charging protocols.

Additionally, using KT002, it was found that the USB-C port supports QC2.0/3.0, AFC, FCP, SCP, PD3.0, and PPS fast charging protocols.

In addition, it also has three fixed voltage ranges of 5V3A, 9V2.22A, and 12V1.67A, as well as two PPS voltage ranges of 3.3-5.9V3A and 3.3-11V1.8A.


Through observation, it was found that the USB module adopts a QR switching power supply architecture, with a protocol chip controlling the dual port output voltage of 1A1C. Below, we will take a look at the specific information of each device.

The main control chip of the charger switch power supply adopts CX7527C, which is a high-performance multi-mode PWM flyback controller. This product facilitates users to design high-performance AC/DC conversion switch power supplies with fewer peripheral components and lower system costs. It provides extremely comprehensive and excellent intelligent protection functions, including cycle by cycle overcurrent protection, overload protection, soft start, chip over temperature protection VDD undervoltage/overvoltage locking protection function.

CX7527C chip has the function of automatically identifying load size and adjusting working mode. Under full or heavy load conditions, the chip operates at a fixed frequency of 65KHz; When the load is reduced, the operating frequency of the chip decreases, effectively reducing switch losses; When the load is in extremely light or no-load conditions, the chip is in interval mode.

CX7527C has built-in intelligent dithering technology to reduce electromagnetic interference and output ripple generated by the system in frequency reduction mode. Its unique working mode minimizes audio energy and eliminates audio noise. Adopting SOP-8 packaging provides a good design platform for high cost performance flyback switching power supply systems that require ultra-low standby power consumption.

The secondary synchronous rectifier chip adopts Chengxin Micro CX7538B, which is a high-performance switching power supply secondary side synchronous rectifier chip that easily meets 6-level energy efficiency in switching power supplies. It is an ideal replacement solution for Schottky. The CX7538B supports a maximum switching frequency of 150KHz and is equipped with an 11m Ω low conductivity NMOS transistor, which generates much lower heat than Schottky diodes, significantly reducing temperature and improving conversion efficiency.


The CX7538B supports the CCM/QR/DCM mode of switch mode power supply, which is very suitable for 3.3-12V fast charging synchronous rectification. It is equipped with a built-in synchronous rectification tube with a voltage resistance of 60V and 11m Ω, which can provide 3A output, with a maximum improvement of 6% compared to Schottky efficiency. The working voltage range is wide, and the peripheral components are very simple. In wide voltage applications, only one capacitor is needed on the periphery.


The protocol chip adopts XPD738 for 1C1A dual port control. XPD738 has passed USB PD3.0 certification (TID: 3479) and supports fast charging protocols such as PD2.0/3.0, PPS, QC2.0/3.0, FCP, SCP, HVSCP, AFC, etc. It is very suitable for application on 1C1A dual port charging devices. It supports any single port fast charging and dual port output of 5V. When connected to an Apple charging cable on the A port but not connected to an Apple phone, the C port still has fast charging.


The output VBUS switch adopts 3419, PMOS transistor, withstand voltage of 30V, and DFN3x3 packaging.
