35W dual C-port gallium nitride solution, main control chip CX1342

In response to the current fast charging power supply market, CXW has launched a series of gallium nitride fast charging solutions (33W, 35W dual C, 45W dual C, 65W dual C1A). By combining the main control chip of the CX1342 power supply with synchronous rectification CX7601, and combining multiple different power fast charging protocol chips, the fast charging solution only requires very few peripheral devices when applied, and is designed using simplified circuits. It has high integration, small volume, low temperature rise High efficiency and other characteristics have been unanimously favored by the power supply market.

The 35W dual C-port gallium nitride solution charger supports a single port of 35W power output and automatic power allocation, meeting the simultaneous charging needs of mobile phones and laptops. The USB-C port has five fixed voltage ranges of 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V2.92A, 15V2.33A, and 20V1.75A. When connecting to the second device, the previously connected device will not power off, improving the user experience.

The parameters of the 35W dual C-port gallium nitride scheme are as follows:

The primary control chip adopts CX1342, which is mainly used for 35-65W gallium nitride PD fast charging, This is a high-frequency primary PWM controller with built-in active X2 capacitor discharge and multiple comprehensive protection functions. It also has ultra-low standby power consumption and supports a wide working voltage range.


The synchronous step-down controller adopts CX7601, which is a built-in high-voltage isolation switch with a withstand voltage of up to 150V and supports the CCM/QR/DCM mode of the switching power supply. It is a high-performance synchronous rectification control circuit for the secondary side of the switching power supply. In low voltage and high current switching power supply applications, it can easily meet level 6 energy efficiency and is an ideal solution for ultra-low conduction voltage drop rectification devices.


The synchronous rectifier tube adopts CX010N06, which is a 100V withstand NMOS with a conductivity of 6m Ω and is packaged in PDFN5 * 6.


The USB PD protocol chip adopts CX2935, which is a highly integrated multi-protocol buck SoC chip with high integration and comprehensive protocols. With only a few peripheral components, it can form a dual C-port charging solution.


CX2935 chip supports up to 65W output, 5-20V PD fast charging, 3.3-21V PPS fast charging, and a maximum output current of 5A, meeting the charging needs of mobile phones and laptops, and providing high-power PPS fast charging for mobile phones. The chip is equipped with built-in line loss compensation and CC/CV characteristics, with built-in soft start function and comprehensive protection functions, including input overvoltage and undervoltage protection, output short circuit and output overcurrent protection, built-in overheating protection, and pin support for 4KV ESD protection.


The 35W dual C-port gallium nitride PD fast charging scheme consisting of CX1342, CX7601, and CX2935 * 2 effectively simplifies the circuit design of the entire scheme, saves BOM costs, and improves the stability of the entire power system. It is small in size, efficient in performance, low in temperature rise, and has a compact peripheral, compatible with various mainstream fast charging protocols such as PD2.0, 3.0/QC2.0/3.0, FCP, PPS, AFC, and can charge lightweight devices such as iPhone, iPad, and HomePod with a maximum voltage of 20V.
