The BBY INSIGNIA dual A port car charger is equipped with two USB-A ports and LED indicator lights, with the word "12W" printed next to the interface, displaying the maximum output power.


Using ChargerLAB POWER-Z KT002, it was found that the USB-A port supports Apple 2.4A, Samsung 5V2A and DCP protocols.

It was measured that the other A port also only supports Apple 2.4A, Samsung 5V2A, and DCP protocols.

The input buck converter adopts CX8576, which is a buck DC-DC converter with an input withstand voltage of 30V and can achieve precise constant voltage and dual constant current. The CX8576 has a built-in 10m Ω High side N MOS and 10m Ω Low side NMOS, which can support a continuous output current of 4.8A and adjustable output voltage, with a maximum support of 95% duty cycle.


CX8576 is a constant voltage and constant current buck DC-DC converter with minimal application, excellent performance, and stable reliability. The CX8576 achieves external shutdown function by lowering the logic level of the COMP/EN pin and entering standby mode. External compensation enables the feedback control loop to have good line voltage adjustment rate and load adjustment rate, and the peripheral design is flexible.
