The PISEN Pinsheng "Small Block" 20W PD Fast Charging Charger KPD201 series adopts CX7527C+CX7538B, which supports QC, PD and other fast charging protocols and can fully meet the daily fast charging needs of iPhone 12/13 phones

Using ChargerLAB POWER-Z KT002 to detect the output protocol of the USB-C port, it shows support for Apple 2.4A, Samsung 5V2A, DCP protocols, as well as QC2.0/3.0, AFC, FCP, and PD3.0 fast charging protocols.

The main control power supply adopts CX7527C, which is a high-performance multi-mode PWM flyback controller. This product facilitates users to design high-performance AC/DC conversion switching power supplies with fewer peripheral components and lower system costs. It provides extremely comprehensive and excellent intelligent protection functions, including cycle by cycle overcurrent protection, overload protection, soft start, chip over temperature protection, and VDD undervoltage/overvoltage locking protection.


The chip has the function of automatically identifying the size of the load and adjusting the working mode; Under full or heavy load conditions, the chip operates at a fixed frequency of 65KHz; When the load is reduced, the operating frequency of the chip decreases, effectively reducing switch losses; When the load is in extremely light or no-load conditions, the chip is in interval mode.


The CX7527C has built-in intelligent frequency jitter technology to reduce electromagnetic interference and output ripple generated by the system in frequency reduction mode. The unique working mode minimizes audio energy and eliminates audio noise. Adopting SOP-8 packaging provides a good design platform for cost-effective flyback switching power supply systems that require ultra-low standby power consumption.


The secondary synchronous rectification chip adopts CX7538B. This is a high-performance switching power supply secondary side synchronous rectifier chip that easily meets level 6 energy efficiency in switching power supplies, making it an ideal replacement solution for Schottky. The CX7538B supports a maximum switching frequency of 150KHz and is equipped with a built-in 11m Ω low conductivity NMOS transistor, which generates much lower heat than Schottky diodes, significantly reducing temperature and improving conversion efficiency.


The CX7538B supports the CCM/QR/DCM mode of a switching power supply, which is very suitable for 3.3-12V fast charging synchronous rectification. It is equipped with a built-in 60V, 11m Ω synchronous rectification tube that can withstand voltage and provide 3A output. Compared to Schottky, it has a maximum efficiency improvement of 6%, a wide working voltage range, and very simple peripheral components. In wide voltage applications, only one capacitor is needed on the periphery.
