CXW 33W dual port GaN charging solution, power density 1W/cm ³
June 06, 2022

CXW launches a 33W dual port gallium nitride solution with a power density of 1W/cm ³, Welcome the charger factory to request samples of 33W dual port gallium nitride DEMO version and solution development materials.

Following the 33W single port gallium nitride fast charging scheme, CXW has once again launched the 33W dual port gallium nitride scheme with a power density of 1W/cm ³ And equipped with 1C1A dual USB-C output interfaces, USB-C supports 30W PD fast charging and 33W PPS fast charging in terms of performance. In terms of compatibility testing, USB-C can provide fast charging services for most devices, and thanks to the support of PPS fast charging, it can charge some Android models, with power even reaching the maximum output power of the charger. Overall, the performance is good.

It can be clearly seen that when using ChargerLAB's POWER-Z KT002 to read the fast charging protocol of the USB-C interface, USB-C supports almost all commercially available fast charging protocols.

Read the PDO message of the USB-C interface, support five full voltage output gears: 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V2.5A, 15V2A, and 20V1.5A, and support two sets of PPS gears: 3.3-11V3A and 3.3-16V2A.

The actual USB-A supports Apple 2.4A, QC2.0, QC3.0, AFC, FCP, and SCP fast charging protocols.

The compatibility test of CXW 33W dual port GaN charger is as follows:

Using a charger to charge Xiaomi 11 with a power of 8.67V 3.59A 31.17W, successfully triggered PPS high-power fast charging and reached the maximum output power of the charger.

Charging laptops can output 20V high-voltage fast charging, and the measured charging power of the MacBook Air M1 is 20.16V 1.42A 28.78W.

Summarize the test data of USB-C, Apple devices can shake hands with PD fast charging, and most other Android devices can shake hands with PD fast charging. Some models can trigger PPS fast charging and achieve the maximum output power of the charger, with good performance in terms of data.

From the bar graph, it can be clearly seen which device has the highest charging power, and it can be seen that Nut R2 ranks first in terms of power, reaching 32.14W. However, other devices can also trigger PPS or high-power PD fast charging, so the overall difference is not significant.

USB-A can provide 23W+fast charging power for the Xiaomi 10 Pro.

Charging the Meizu 18 Pro with a power of 8.74V 2.47A 21.65W.

Test data summary shows that USB-A can provide around 12W of fast charging power for iPhones, while most other Android models can trigger QC fast charging.

From the bar chart, it can be seen that Xiaomi 9 has the highest power, and the overall power bar chart is relatively flat, with most devices in a fast charging state.

Dual port simultaneous output here, the actual measurement can be charged normally.

In addition to testing the compatibility of the charger, this time also includes relevant testing throughout the charging process. Because the charger supports up to 33W PPS fast charging and 30W PD fast charging, it can already meet the fast charging needs of the iPad. Therefore, we have added measured data for the entire charging process of the iPad Pro.

By plotting the entire charging process as a curve, it can be seen that the charger charges the iPad Pro at 33% in half an hour, 65% in one hour, and takes 2 hours and 13 minutes to fully charge.

The domestic gallium nitride solution has been launched, and the 33W gallium nitride dual port (A+C) solution is coming!

CXW 33W dual port gallium nitride solution development, ultra MINI high-frequency and efficient gallium nitride solution, supporting PPS fast charging, supporting 20V output, 1A1C dual interface can adapt to multiple devices such as smartphones, IPADs, laptops, game consoles, etc.

The original factory provides DEMO testing, free samples, and technical support for 33W gallium nitride solution!

Introduction to the 33W Dual Port 1A1C Gallium Nitride Fast Charging Reference Scheme:

33W gallium nitride 1A1C dual port version:

  • Adopting SOT23-6 packaging to save PCB space

  • Adopting a Z-high 120KHZ switching frequency, effectively reducing the size of the transformer

  •  External GaN MOS transistor with high efficiency and flexible power matching

  • Input: 100-240Vac 50HZ/60HZ 0.8A

  • Output USB-C: 5V3A/9V3A/12V2.5A/15V2A/20V1.5A

  • Output USB-A: 5V4.5A/9V3A/12V2.5A/20V1.5A

  • USB-C+A: 5V4.5A

  • Support: QC2.0/QC3.0/PD2.0/PD3.0/PPS/FCP/SCP/AFC and other fast charging protocols

  • High power density: 2.0W/cm3 (PCBA)

The 33W dual port 1A1C gallium nitride fast charging scheme adopts gallium nitride power devices, which can achieve high efficiency power switching, high power density design, high switching frequency, and reduce system costs.

This 33W 1A1C gallium nitride fast charging model is based on a gallium nitride switch transistor and a high-performance main control chip CX2006. Combined with a small board stacking method, it can still maintain a considerable MINI small volume after adding folding pins to the shell.
