CX2916C Overview:

CX2916C is an integrated USB Type-C, USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0, QC3.0/2.0 Class A fast charging protocol, Huawei FCP/SCP fast charging protocol, Samsung AFC fast charging protocol, BC1.2 DCP, and Apple device 2.4A

A multifunctional USB port controller with charging specifications, providing a complete USB Type-C port charging solution for devices such as AC-DC adapters, mobile power supplies, and car chargers.

The built-in TYPE-C protocol of CX2916C can support the insertion of TYPE-C devices into the automatic wake-up system, intelligently identifying the forward and reverse insertion of plugs, and achieving connection. 

The integrated TYPE-C PD3.0 protocol supports Bidirectional Markup Coding (BMC), integrates hardware's physical layer protocol and protocol engine, and does not require software to participate in encoding and decoding.

The CX2916C supports 18W output power. Among them, the CX2916CA broadcast PDO voltage is 5V/9V, and the CX2916CB broadcast PDO voltage is 5V/9V/12V. CX2916C (A/B) is a cost-effective solution tailored specifically for mobile charging devices.

The CX2916C (A/B) has a Sink/Source current source connected to the feedback pins of AC-DC or DC-DC to achieve dynamic voltage regulation. It has a soft start/voltage regulation function during both startup and voltage regulation processes, achieving smooth voltage transition.

CX2916C (A/B) has multiple built-in protection mechanisms to ensure equipment safety, including dynamic overvoltage/undervoltage/overcurrent protection (the protection point can be adjusted proportionally based on the operating voltage/current requested by the equipment); Start monitoring (the monitoring end will be monitored before VBUS output is the port voltage in a safe state; DP/DM and CC1/CC2 overvoltage protection.

The CX2916C (A/B) integrates a 30m Ω VBUS channel power switch and an internal discharge channel, saving peripheral devices and enabling faster output shutdown and recovery to a safe state in the event of an error.

The CX2916C (A/B) adopts the common ESOP8 packaging form, providing optimal BOM cost characteristics.
